Maya de Vitry, “Nothing Else Matters”

Guys! There’s a new Maya de Vitry (former Stray Birds) record out today. I live for Maya’s albums and I nearly forgot!!! Maya’s digging deeper into her lovely world and including a few great co-writes on The Only Moment, including “Nothing Else Matters,” which is not a cover of Metallica‘s 1991 ballad, but a co-write with Phoebe Hunt.

Amy Helm, “Money On 7”

Silver City is the new album from Amy Helm (out September 9) featuring the uplifting song “Money On 7.” As Helm describes it: “For anyone who’s been single for years and feels like they’re walking through the Sahara — ‘Money On 7’ is about just pressing on and letting time take care of it.”

Bill Taylor, “Roll Me Away”

I really really love Bob Seeger, so I am inclined to tell everyone I know there is a new bluegrass tribute comp to him! I am not usually one for “Pickin’ On” or bluegrass covers, but I have to admit that I just LOVE this Bill Taylor cover of “Roll Me Away.” The entire comp, Silver Bullet Bluegrass, is out today.

Goodnight Moonshine, “My Sister Evangeline”

I love talking to Molly Venter (Red Molly) and love hearing her observations of the world and love even more when she writes about and puts them to song. “My Sister Evangeline,” the latest single from her duo (with husband Eben Pariser) explores the sacred bond of female friendship.
