How do I donate?

You can donate right now through our online donation form. Annual donations of $60 and more will get you access to the pledge-free member stream.

What does Folk Alley do with donations?

Folk Alley is a non-profit and relies on listener contributions to pay for streaming costs, expert human hosted content, special streams, and exclusive interviews and videos. To find out more, read our mission.

Can I donate by check?

Of course! To mail a donation (in U.S. dollars only): Membership Department, Folk Alley, P.O. Box 261, Saranac Lake, NY 12983 USA.

Why should I become a member?

When you become a Folk Alley member at the $60 level or above, you will receive exclusive Members-only access to our fund drive-free music stream. 

How do I become a Member?

Using our secure online donation form, donate at the $60 or above level.

I’ve donated at the membership level but cannot access the stream

Access to the member stream is not immediate. We will need to activate you, which takes a couple of days. You will also need to sign-up to our membership portal. Once you are logged in you will see a button to access the member stream.

I’m having issues trying to create a password for my Member Portal account

Your password must contain at least 8 characters and include: 1 number, 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, and 1 special character (the special characters allowed are: !@#$%^&*()_\-+=<>?{}[]~;:

If your device or browser suggests a secure password to use, we recommend not using it as many of our members have forgotten the password set for them.

How do I access the Member Portal?

How do I change my Credit Card information?

You can edit your credit card information in the billing section of your members portal.

How do I receive my donation information for taxes?

You will be able to download any necessary documentation to include with your tax return in your members portal.

Can I access the Pledge- Free Member Stream through a smart speaker or internet radio?

You can access the member stream directly through the Folk Alley mobile app or the Alexa Skill by logging in directly in the app / skill with your member portal credentials.

If you are trying to access the pledge-free stream through a Sonos device or wifi-radio, please email membership@folkalley.com.

What devices can I listen to the streams on?

You can play the streams through this website, our mobile apps, our Alexa Skill, via smart-speakers or through a streaming application / wi-fi radio.

I’m outside of the US and can’t use the Alexa Skill or listen via TuneIn

Unfortunately the Alexa Skill is currently only available in the United States and TuneIn has taken down a large amount of radio stations outside of the US because of royalty disputes.

Can I see upcoming songs?

We are unable to list upcoming songs as part of Folk Alley’s compliance with The Digital Copyright Millennium Act (DCMA).

How do I request a song?

We are proud of our playlist, but also realize that, especially with the breadth of folk, roots, and Americana music, we could be missing out on some very good artists. Please use our Song Request form.

Can I submit my music for consideration?

We only accept digital submissions. (Go green and save money in the process.) To be considered for airplay on Folk Alley, you may submit your music (WAV files) and liner notes via Dropbox or other download links. Email link to: linda@folkalley.com.

*Submitted music will be reviewed as time permits. Due to the extremely large number of submissions we receive and our extremely small staff, we’re sorry but we cannot respond individually. Submitted music is not guaranteed airplay.
