Why We Write with Kim Ruehl, Eps. 51: The Milk Carton Kids
The Milk Carton Kids have been recording together for a dozen years already. Their new album, I Only See the Moon, feels like a return to the sound from which they originally emerged, except this time with all the wisdom they’ve gleaned in the ensuing years.
To discuss that wisdom and how it has impacted their songwriting this time around, they’re back for a second turn on the Why We Write podcast. As that discussion unfolded, they veered into other topics, as is their nature. Things that came up: Bob Dylan, Bill Withers, Joey Ryan’s coaching of his son’s little league baseball team, stand-up comedy, and various other things that figure into the music in one (meandering) way or another.
Press play and come along for the ride with WWW and Folk Alley favorite: The Milk Carton Kids.
