Singer/Songwriter Elliott Smith Dead at 34

Singer/songwriter Elliott Smith, best known for his Oscar-nominated Miss Misery from the film Good Will Hunting, died in Los Angeles yesterday from an apparently self-inflicted knife wound. Smith, who was working on a new album for DreamWorks, left behind a large body of recordings. He had a long history with substance abuse and depression.
