Rory Gallagher’s Last Wish…..A Folk Album.

Irish Blues-Rock phenom Rory Gallagher died in 1995. The Irish Postal Service recently honored several icons on stamps; Rory was included along with Van Morrison and U-2. What he really wanted to do, however, was a folk album. His brother, Donal, did some digging and completed the task. Included are 2 tracks with Bela Fleck at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in 94, an old tune that Bert Jansch had in his basement, and the melancholic Wheels within Wheels which Rory recorded and abandoned twice. We’ll never know why. If you’ve heard it, or any of the others aired on Folk Alley, I’d like to hear your impressions.
