Robin & Linda Williams
When Linda Williams met her future musical partner and eventual husband in 1971, he was a singer/songwriter and she was teaching school in South Carolina. And the rest, as they say, is history. Together they have written songs that have been recorded by artists including Emmylou Harris, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Tom T. Hall, Kathy Mattea, Tim and Mollie O’Brien, The Seldom Scene and Mary Black. They have also made frequent guest appearances on A Prairie Home Companion, one of public radio’s most popular programs, and are part of that show’s Hopeful Gospel Quartet (along with host Garrison Keillor). The duo even played a role in the Robert Altman-directed major motion picture inspired by the radio program. Despite their many trips to Minnesota, Robin and Linda currently call Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley home.
