Remembering John Prine: Five Essential Deep Cuts

This song was written by Lefty Frizzell, not John Prine, but Prine’s delivery of it in duet with Mac Wiseman on their 2007 collaboration makes it sound like it came straight from Prine’s pen. It’s worth noting that some of the great highlights of his career saw him singing with other people—whether Bonnie Raitt, Iris DeMent, Kacey Musgraves, or Mac Wiseman. And this album is one of his finest.
