New Dangerfield, “Put No Walls Around Your Garden”

New Dangerfield, the new band carrying the Black string band tradition forward (feat. Jake Blount, Kaïa Kater, Tray Wellington, Nelson Williams), share their new song “Put No Walls Around Your Garden” today. Written by Kaïa Kater, the song’s a parable for our current time of climate change and inequity: “Challenging wealth inequality, resource hoarding, and touching on contemporary economic realities – like inflation, food insecurity, and profiteering – ‘Put No Walls Around Your Garden’ draws from a rich tradition of working class Black string band anthems. Firmly grounded in the present, it’s a song that also challenges each of us to ensure a more equitable future for all.”

Blind Pilot, “Jacaranda”

In The Shadow Of The Holy Mountain, Blind Pilot’s first album in eight years, is out on August 16.  Their new song “Jacaranda,” serves as a bold declaration of reclamation and renewal from bandleader Israel Nebeker.

Denitia, “Gettin’ Over”

Denitia’s third album Sunset Drive releases on September 6. She calls her latest song “Gettin’ Over” the, quote, “working person’s anthem.”
