In the meantime, check out some of the best new music we’ve been listening to this week.

Ray LaMontagne – “It Takes Me Back”

Does anyone else’s voice immediately break your heart the way Ray LaMontagne‘s does? “It Takes Me Back” features old school and irresistible Ray vocals that create warm nostalgia. His new album Broken Sky will be out on August 25.

Darlingside – “Darkening Hour”

The new album Everything Is Alive from harmony bros Darlingside is out today! Their song “Darkening Hour” waltzes along reminding you that it’s always darkest before the dawn.

Joni Mitchell – “A Case of You”  (feat. Brandi Carlile)

Joni Mitchell‘s epic 2022 return to the Newport Folk Festival stage is released as a live album today. Produced by her friend and close collaborator, Brandi Carlile, “A Case of You” stands as a phenomenal and historic duet between the two women. (Read Henry Carrigan’s review of At Newport HERE.)

Taylor Ashton – “Honey”

Taylor Ashton is making dad jokes fun again in 2023 with “Honey.” On top of brilliant word play, Ashton’s sneaky hooks are as sticky as the physical substance he references. All the while, it’s actually tasteful banjo and wistful horns that act as the dark horse on this clever and beautiful song which is on his upcoming release Stranger to the Feeling (out August 18).
