In the meantime, check out some of the best new music we’ve been listening to this week.

Anna Tivel – “The Good Fight”

Another B-Side from her 2022 Outsiders album, “The Good Fight” is, according to Anna, “a song about our mad forward-fueled grasping at some kind of arrival, success, validation, understanding.” It’s poetic, present and glows. Enjoy.

Joni Mitchell – “Both Sides Now”

The Newport moment everyone was buzzing about is now coming out as a live album: Joni Mitchell At Newport sees release on July 28. Produced by her friend and close collaborator, Brandi Carlile, Joni’s deep alto flows strongly on one of the most beautiful folk songs ever.

Lori McKenna – “Killing Me” (featuring Hilary Lindsey)

2023 sees a new record from New England’s Nashville hit songwriter Lori McKenna! Out July 21, 1988, named after the year she married her husband Gene, is a love letter to her family and close friends. Featuring her songwriting partner, Hilary Lindsey, “Killing Me” was written with McKenna, Lindsey, and Luke Laird.

Raul Malo – “Cosa’s Cumbia”

Today, The Mavericks’ front-man and golden-throated Raul Malo released a solo guitar instrumental record. If you love the dramatic flair of Malo’s vocal range, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by his dynamic and groovy guitar work. These songs do not go where you think they might.
