In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at some exciting new music that’s caught our ears this week!

Josh Ritter, “Wild Ways”

“Wild Ways” is from Josh Ritter’s latest album, I Believe in You, My Honeydew. According to Ritter, the song is “about surrendering to the better angels of our own natures, about allowing them to guide us through life through our experience of joy and awe. Perhaps those better angels are the ones around us we love, perhaps they are truly angels, circling the air about our heads. Either way, in welcoming them into our lives by surrendering, we can find ourselves in whole new worlds of wonder.“

Madi Diaz, “Fatal Optimist”

“Fatal Optimist” is the title track to Madi Diaz’s latest album. In Diaz’s words, “Fatal optimism is the innate hope for something magical. It’s the weird faith that kicks in while knowing that there is just plain risk that comes with wanting someone or something. It’s when you have no control over the outcome, but still choose to experience every moment that happens, and put your whole heart in it.”

Mavis Staples, “Human Mind”

Co-written by Hozier & Allison Russell, “Human Mind” is featured on Mavis’ new album Sad and Beautiful World. The song is about paying tribute to the complexity of life yet maintaining a faith in humanity.

Madison Cunningham, “Wake” (feat. Fleet Foxes)

“Wake” is from Madison Cunningham’s new album Ace. Featuring Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes), a hero of Cunningham’s. “Fleet Foxes’ melodies and songs have inspired me for as long as I can remember,” she stated. “I feel quite lucky to have been able to experience his genius up close.”
