###
Jensen McRae’s second album I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! is out today and features the song “Savannah.” Jensen explains the song, “Savannah is the oldest song on the album and I think is the song that speaks most to the title and the cover art. It’s about leaving a bad relationship, falling into one that seems good, and running away, only to be confronted by your past on every street corner.”
Willie Nelson, “Banks of The Old Bandera”
Oh What a Beautiful World (out today), produced by Buddy Cannon, is Willie’s 77th solo studio album celebrates songwriting legend Rodney Crowell with 12 new performances of classic Crowell compositions. “Banks of The Old Bandera” was originally on Rodney’s 2001 album The Houston Kid.
The Milk Carton Kids, “Ribbon”
The Milk Carton Kids’ latest is a cover of Maya de Vitry’s “Ribbon.” Joey and Kenneth say of the track, “The biggest choices in our lives are often messy and complicated. We go blindly down one road or the other, and we don’t get to peer back over that line to see what would have been. What “Ribbon” captures so well is that moment before choosing, before our fate is sealed, and finding some peace in the not knowing.”
Kassi Valazza, “Shadow of Lately”
The upcoming third album From Newman Street (out 5/1) marks Kassi Valazza’s fresh start in New Orleans after a decade in Portland, OR. Valazza offers, “Much of my last year living in Portland was spent walking through neighborhoods and keeping to myself. After going through a difficult breakup from a five year relationship, I found it hard to go out and be social. Keeping up with people became harder and I slowly found myself alone in my basement apartment, fearing the outside world, especially during the darker months of winter.”
