Andrew Bird & Madison Cunningham, “Crying In The Night”
October 18 sees the release of Andrew Bird & Madison Cunningham doing a top-to-bottom cover album of the 1973 cult classic, Buckingham Nicks. Andrew Bird shares: “This album epitomizes excess and confidence, and it only made sense to embody that spirit ourselves. The confidence, that is, to mess with an iconic, if underrated gem. Madison is the most talented musician I’ve encountered. She has a restless ear, always looking for a new sound or harmonic twist. Her voice is goosebump-inducing, nimble and emotive at any volume. I just had to find the right project for us to go deep on and this is it.”
Caleb Klauder & Reeb Willms, “All About Love”
Caleb Klauder & Reeb Willms’ new album Gold In Your Pocket is out November 15 featuring the song “All About Love.” “Whether we admit it or not in this fast-paced world,” Willms says, “music remains a deeply innate thing, ancient and ingrained in us.”
Trampled by Turtles, “Out of Time” (featuring LeAnn Rimes)
“Out of Time,” featuring LeAnn Rimes, will appear on TBT/Dave Simmonet’s upcoming double album (out December 6). Dave reflects, “I didn’t hear LeAnn’s parts until a little while, after the fact. The first inkling, I had heard about it was from our engineer Nick at Pachyderm Studios who told me that he was brought to tears by the first verse he heard her sing. It was pretty lofty expectations set right away but when I ended up hearing it, I felt the same way. I was fully blown away. To hear that iconic voice singing a verse that I wrote and then hearing her harmonizing on choruses, it felt like a dream. We are very grateful.”
Willie Nelson, “Do You Realize??”
November 1st marks the release date of Willie’s 76th solo studio album and his 153rd album overall and marks the first time he’s worked with his son Micah in the producer’s chair. For Last Leaf on the Tree, Micah helped identify tracks by younger generations of songwriters that suited his father’s voice and personality. Among them — this gem.
