We’re happy to bring you the best in new folk and roots music releases every week, on Cindy’s Fresh Cuts Radio Hour, streamable each Friday afternoon at 2pm ET/11am PT. (Or just click on the Fresh Cuts playlist here our website or on the Folk Alley app, and enjoy the best new music any time it suits you!).  Here are a few highlights.

Joe Pug – “Hymn #35” (Revisited)

This is a reimagined, full-band version of Pug’s 2008 debut. This time he’s brought along Derry DeBorja, Courtney Hartman, Brandon Flowers, and Carl Broemel.

Beth Nielson Chapman – “With Time”

This moving song from Beth Nielson Chapman was a co-write with her best friend Annie Roboff. To hear Chapman, tell it, it was a months-long endeavor about “wonder and time and love.”

Charley Crockett – “I’m Just a Clown”

For the first time, Crocket headed into the studio to record with his touring band for an entire album. The result, The Man from Waco, is due on September 9.

Lauren Balthrop featuring Maya DeVitry – “Thank You”

Balthrop’s second album, No Singing or Dancing, is due for release on August 12 and this single from the disc features beloved singer-songwriter and former Stray Bird Maya DeVitry.

Gretchen Peters – “When You Love Someone” (Live)

Gretchen Peters is readying the release of a special live album, pulled from three shows on her 2019 Strings Attached tour. The album drops on August 19, but this song is well worth listening to right now.
