Béla Fleck, on tour this summer with fiddler Casey Driessen and guitarist Bryan Sutton as the Acoustic Trio, takes a minute to talk with Jim Blum about playing at Bean Blossom for the first time, his early years as a student of Tony Trischka and how that influenced his music, and what Béla did on his so-called “year off.” Jim also asks Béla about how it feels to be emerging as mentor to the younger generation of bluegrass musicians like the Duhks, Uncle Earl and so many more.
